Science & Engineering of Materials Club (CIM)To get High School Students involved even more in research programs the formation of clubs began in the year 2005; being the first initiated Clubs from the Eugenio María de Hostos High School and the José de Diego High School, being both located in Mayagüez. Until now CIM has a total of 60 participants that are encouraging their classmates to get involved in research and to get informed about the different careers that already exist but are not well known yet. Along this year the students have seen demonstrations similar to the ones shown by Graduated and Undergraduated students in the High School Teachers Summer Project, for example: Conductity, Optics, Foundry, Nanoworld and How the properties of the Material is affected by its structure among others.
