UPRM-UW: A Materials Science partnership that spans 100ºF

University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM)    University of Wisconsin - Madison

The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM) is located in the city of Mayagüez on the west coast of Puerto Rico. Discovered by Columbus in 1493, the island population in 2003 was of 3,885,877. The city of Mayagüez's population is approximately 97,886. Puerto Rico's climate is tropical marine (little seasonal temperature variation) with an average annual temperature of 82ºF. (28ºC.). The University of Wisconsin. Madison is location in South Central Wisconsin. Wisconsin’s population is 5,472,299. Madison's population is growing rapidly (208,054 in 2003). Madison's weather is very variable: long, cold winters and short, warm summers tempered by the Great Lakes. Madison Average Annual Temperature is 45ºF. Winter’s average temperature is 19ºF/-7ºC.
